Dark Matter is a Platform, Survival Horror, and Single-player video game developed by Interwave Studios and published by Iceberg Interactive for Cross-Platform in 2013. The game mainly offers the 2.5D side-scroll gameplay, taking place in the spaceship besieged by a sinister alien and infested with deadly parasites. The game puts the player in the protagonist’s role named Ensign, who must navigate the fetid hallways and abandoned facilities with an aim to scavenge for blueprints and parts, expanding his arsenal to four deadly weapons. It offers a compelling storyline, revolving around the protagonist running into the door, slamming against its cold metal surface. There are over fourteen challenging levels in the gritty tale of space survival, and during the game, the player can use four weapons and four different ammo types. Elemental ammo effects enable the player to dissolve, freeze, or set fire to his foes. There are three different craftable upgrades available to customize the weapons. It is the direct sequel to Castlevania: Rondo of Blood and includes the son of Dracula named Alucard as the protagonist. The game focuses on side-scroll, exploration, and role-playing element. You play as the protagonist, and your main objective is to travel the Dracula’s castle and defeat the antagonist Dracula. It has non-linear gameplay, but most of the areas in Castle requires specific items to unlock. Earn points by uncovering the castles and unlock a map that shows you progress. There are a variety of levels and each level filled with different creatures and the boss Dracula. Use different weapons and items to kill the foes and reach at the end of each level to complete. The game becomes challenging as you progress through it and must face most dangerous foes and boss. With addictive gameplay, superb mechanics, and addictive story, Castlevania: Symphony of the Night is the best puzzle platform game as compared to others platform games.
