Dark Cloud 2 (known as Dark Chronicle) is an Action, Exploration, Role-playing and Single-player video game created by Level-5. It is the direct sequel to Dark Cloud and offers the similar gameplay with elements of City-building. The game takes place in the fictional world and revolves around two protagonists named Monica and Max who come from future. The ultimate task is to fend off antagonist named Emperor Griffon who attempts to destroy the presents. The game is played from a third-person perspective, in which the player can travel through randomly generated dungeons where he has to fight against monsters and gather items. Both protagonists are armed with special moves, weapons and playing style. Monica can use a mighty sword and a bracelet to take down monsters while Max can use melee weapons and a gun to defeat his enemies. The game rewards you with absorption points (ABS) as you kill the monster and the weapon is level-up as you reached a certain point.
