The story focuses on a character named as Shantae, who makes her way to home after a peaceful sleep. During the journey, the protagonist hears a mysterious voice that called out to her. A mysterious trapdoor appears, and the protagonist finds herself in the cavern where the voice tells her that a dangerous threat is coming to destroy not only the realm but the world of the protagonist as well. The game is split into five chapters, and each chapter offers challenging objectives that the player must accomplish at any cost.
