Contra: Legacy of War is an Action, Third-person Shooter, and Single-player video game developed by Appaloosa Interactive and published by Konami of America. The game was first of two Contra titles that were created by Appaloosa. This title is also marked the series’ jump to 3D graphics and major changes in gameplay. The story revolves around Colonel; Bassad, who is a dictator and has become a massive threat and is amassing a team of soldiers, alien mutants, and robots. However, Bassad has allied himself with unknown creatures for his unholy plans to world domination. There are several playable characters, and the player needs to choose his favorite one to jump into the world with an aim to save the land from being destroyed and smash all the unholy plans of the brutal enemy. All playable characters start their struggle with a machine gun and a flamethrower, but the remaining two slots are available for character specific weaponry. The game is played from an isometric perspective. Since the game is set in the 3D environment, enemies come from all viewpoints.
