Cataclysm: Dark Days Ahead (shortened as CDDA) is a Horror-Survival, Rogue-like, and Single-player Open Source video game developed by Kevin Granade and Community. The game introduces the Text-based visuals and brings the fantastic gameplay that the player has never experienced before. It takes place in near the future New England, and the story of the game revolves around after the catastrophic event slaughtered most of the human population and spawned hazards and monsters. Through a zombie apocalypse, many other deadly disasters events are going on, including Lovecraftian, triffids, and more. Unlike other Rogue-like games, the game has no goal. The player can move freely to explore the randomly generated map, struggle to clear the specific map’s areas of monsters, interact with Non-player Characters and build shelters and vehicles to advance through the game.
