It follows the traditional role-playing elements with turn-based rules. During the gameplay, the player needs to earn brave points by defeating enemies in turn-based combat. The plot takes place a half years after the event of Bravely Default. According to the story, Anges Oblige has been selected as the Pope of the Crystal Orthodoxy.
