The game takes you back in the past 1986, where Doc has been missing for a long time. All the debts he was having, the city is decided to create a parking garage at the place of his place, selling all furniture and other stuff from it along the way. After that, Marty McFly is struggling to save things strange to him, but mysteriously in the year 1931, where the character was busted for setting a speakeasy on fire. Now, Marty must traverse to the past and attempt to save his buddy before he gets lynched by a mob. The game is played from a third-person perspective in the real-time environment with a scrolling camera setting. The player can use a point-and-click interface to control the character movement to advance the game.
