Aegis Defenders is a Side-scroll, Platform, Single-player, Co-op, and Multiplayer video game developed by GUTS Department and published by Humble Bundle. The game takes place in the 2D world where the player controls the team of four characters. In the game, the player can run, jump and attack enemies his way through a variety of levels while scoring the points. Each character in the game has its unique sub-ability and is able to build a unique item. During the gameplay, the player can use cross fusion to mix several items to build a new one. There are a series of levels and each level is divided into tower-defense and exploration phases. The phase of exploration comprises of puzzle solving and platforming elements while in tower-defense phase, the player needs to defend his base from the hordes of enemies. The game consists of eighteen challenging levels in the story campaign additional three bonus levels, introducing the crossover characters from other games such as Shovel Knight, Derpl Zork from Awesomenauts and Luais from Timespinner.
