A Plague Tale: Innocence is an Action-Adventure, Horror, Survival, Puzzle, and Single-player video game offered by Asobo Studios. During the gameplay, the player adopts the role of a female protagonist named Amicia de Rune, who needs to survive for her life.

The player can use stealth tactics to survive from the hostile encounters, and if the enemies grab the character, they will not let her go and kill her. The protagonist equips a sling through the character that can break rocks, make interruptions, or shock monitors long enough to trap them, and she can also kill enemies with a headshot.

The game offers multiple puzzles that the player needs to solve all the problems to get to advance and requires some techniques to occupy the swarms of hungry rats to access new zones for them towards enemies. The brother of the protagonist named Hugo will help her in completing specific tasks when she looks busy, but this is unsafe as Hugo will begin to freeze whenever left alone. Later in the game, the player can accept control of Hugo, who can’t create things but can control rats and sneak through little spaces.

The player can create different ammo and supplies, such as fire starting Sulphur stones, small bombs, or fire suppressants. The game has core features, such as Different Enemies, Simulation, Crafting, Female Protagonist, and Survival Gameplay.
